Who are the sweetest people in the world? The diabetics! Just kidding.Diabetes is a serious disease. Basically a diabetic cannot properly manage the sugar content of his body. This sugar is not only from "sugar" but from other sources like fat, protein, and carbohydrates. It's not okay for a diabetic to drink diet coke, but eat candies and chocolates?
The problem in diabetes is with a certain hormone called "insulin" which regulates our sugar. Diabetes can be an auto immune disease which means the body itself destroys the cells that produce insulin. It can also be inherited. The insulin of diabetics can be lacking or can be enough, but the body has the resistance to it. The result is an excess of sugar in circulation.
Insulin was the first thing inserted to my body when i was young at two years old.
My parents would always be stressed and bothered every time they sent me to hospitals, with my eyes up in convulsions and shaking, and fainted, and unconscious. I woke up the following day "okay" and "well" and back to normal again. I grew up like this, until now.
I remember my school days, so many absences in a month. Makes fifteen days of school, when I got sick during Elementary days.
I suffered night blindness when i was a fourth grader. I saw nothing, even during the day time. My mom cried out for help, and sent me to the doctor again, injected me an insulin. The process went on almost everyday.
When i reach my college days, i was already aware with whats going on with me when I'm on seizure. I go out of my house with insulin on my pocket. Just to be sure for my medication.
Recently, i was brought back to the hospital, suffered from Hematoma. My head banged on the floor through the hard object, unconscious. I was in the kitchen that time preparing for food. I then, remembered doctors advised not too much work and be get upset, and leave all the worries behind.
Now, I'm enjoying my life in the gym, with friends around and my family. With these, I help people crusading about diabetics.
Experienced a happy life, do the exercises everyday and a good nutritious diet..
I would recommend a healthy lifestyle to people suffering diabetes like me.
A diabetic can manifest frequent drinking, frequent urination and frequent eating, and weight loss. All this can be explained by the problem with sugar and insulin. The excess sugar acts like a sponge and pulls out water from the body resulting in frequent urination. Because of this, the diabetic becomes thirsty, that's why he drinks more often.
